BCSS Helps to Raise $28,000 for Baldwin County Education Coalition

Baldwin County Sewer Service (BCSS) is thrilled that their 3rd Annual Baldwin County Education Coalition Golf Classic on September 10, 2015 raised $28,000, for the countywide Education Coalition to help Baldwin County Schools. Despite some unfortunate weather, players and sponsors had a great day at the sold-out tournament, which was held at Rock Creek golf course in Fairhope. BCSS and the Baldwin County Education Coalition (BCEC) are very pleased with the turnout and the event’s success. As BCEC Executive Director Terry Burkle states, “We greatly appreciate all of the generous support for the 3rd Annual Golf Classic. Donors and allies have enabled the Coalition’s work to inform and engage citizens about issues concerning public education and to advocate with a united-voice for reform.  There has never been a greater need for our work to continue and grow.” [su_custom_gallery source=”media: 1621,1622″ limit=”100″ link=”lightbox” width=”200″ height=”200″ title=”never” class=”right”][su_custom_gallery source=”media: 1558″ limit=”100″ link=”lightbox” width=”200″ height=”200″ title=”never” class=”right”][su_custom_gallery source=”media: 420″ link=”lightbox” width=”200″ height=”200″ title=”never” class=”right”](Slideshow of photos or Photo Gallery)[/su_custom_gallery[/su_custom_gallery]

While everyone enjoyed a delicious barbeque lunch prepared by Rock Creek, Baldwin County School Interim Superintendent Hope Zeanah, School Board President Shannon Causey and Education Coalition Executive Director Terry Burkle, along with other School Board members, greeted and thanked everyone for backing local schools. Golfers benefited from complimentary beverages on the course, in addition to opportunities to win big prizes for various challenges, including $10,000 cash for making a hole-in-one, which unfortunately, no one scored. The luckiest player of the day was Lee Hall of Alabama Power who was awarded two different free weekend Gulf condo stays for closest to the pin and longest drive. Many teams withstood the afternoon’s sporadic rain and gathered after the tournament for dinner and drinks while awards were announced. The highest placed teams, which earned superb prizes, were as follows: 1st place-Truland Homes, 2nd-Coastal Utilities, and 3rd- Baldwin EMC.
